Mattie Belle Viersen passed away March 3, 1963 at Halstead. She was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. James Steele. Mrs. Viersen was born on August 28, 1880 in Indiana.
She had spent most of her life in the Halstead community. She was married to Claude Viersen January 31, 1900. He preceded her in death. Her adopted daughter, Helen, died in 1946. She is survived by a granddaughter, Jo Lynn Steele of Wichita.
Rev. James Andrews and Rev. E. J. Vaughn officated at the services Wednesday morniing. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
