Alice Rosetta Cadwell was born November 3, 1873 in Burlington, Iowa and came to Kansas with her parents in 1874, at the age of three months. She lived with her parents on the homestead five miles west of Halstead until she was married on February 27, 1890 to Victor David Wright.

They lived on a farm four miles west and two south of Halstead until moving to Halstead ub 1896 and she has lived there ever since.

She joined the Presbyterian Church in 1907 and was still a member at the time of her death. She also joined the Rebekah Lodge in 1907 and has been an active member as long as her health permitted.

Her husband preceded her in death on September 30, 1930. One daughter died in 1900 at the age of 11 months and one son, Lloyd, died December 19, 1944.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are two sons; Claude Wright of Newton and Harland Wright of Halstead; three daughters, Pearl Stahl of Newton; Iva Sargeant, Burbank, California and Selma Brown of Hutchinson; one brother, Frank Cadwell of Haven; three sisters, Mary Duckettt, Taloga, Oklahoma; Carrie Stutzman, Halstead and Nina Oursler of Newton, Kansas; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Services were held at the First Presbyterian Church of Halstead on April 22, 1950. Burial was in the Halstead cemetery.
