Stutzman, Rhonda L.

Halstead Independent

Rhonda L. Stutzman, 51, rural Halstead, died November 19, 1986 in an automobile accident at Newton. She was born December 7, 1934 at Protection, Kansas, daughter of Lloyd and Vesta Robertson Rhodes. She married John Stutzman, August 8, 1954 at Protection. She had been a Halstead area resident for 32 years. She was a homemaker and was employed at the State Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services, Newton.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Womeh and Order of the Eastern Star, all of Halsteada; the Kansas West Conference, United Methodist Global Ministries and the Kansas Farm Bureau.

She was Kansas Farm Bureau Woman Leader of the year in 1971 was listed in Who's Who in America; was lay delegate to the United Methodist Kansas West Conference from 1977 to 1986.

Survivors: Husband of the home; three daughters, Cynthia Korb, Silver Lake, Kansas; Kathy Dawson, Garland, Texas; Gaylene Stutzman, Dallas, Texas; her father, Lloyd Rhodes, Protection, Kansas; two brothers, Ernest Rhodes, Valley Center, Kansas and Darold Rhodes, Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Vesta Rogers, Wichita and Linda Dowling, Protection; four grandchildren.

Services were held at the church with burial in the Halstead Cemetery.
