Buchanan Thompson

Buchanan Thompson was born in Marion County, Indiana on September 24, 1831 and died at his home one and one half miles west of Halstead on April 13, 1895. He was 63 years, 7 months and 19 days old. The deceased moved with his parents to Lee county, Iowa when he was 6 years of age where he grew up to manhood. He was married to Elizabeth Grant on April 11, 1858 to whom was born one son, Clarence. They removed to Harvey Co., Kansas in the year 1871 where he resided until his death. He united with the Christian Church when 26 years of age and he served as elder for 28years.

Funeral services were held at the church with burial in the Halstead Cemetery.
