Mary Eliza Williams, daughter of Albert B. and Rosa Holloway Williams was born October 12, 1894 near Hutchinson, Kansas. She attended grade school in Reno County and finished high school at Nickerson. Later, she received her degree from the Pittsburg State Teachers College at Pittsburg, Kansas. Entering into her chosen field of work, she taught school for a number of years in Reno county, coming to the Halstead public schools in 1923. Because of ill health, she asked for a leave of absence during the middle of the lst school term, which was granted in the hope that she could later resume her duties as kindergarten teacher after a complete rest.
She was married to Lloyd Wright in 1935, in Halstead. Her husband preceded her in death in 1944.
She is survived by brothers, Fred Williams and James Williams, both of Hutchinson; Clay Williams of Canon City, Colorado; Ray Williams, Ontario, California; Albert Williams, Clinton, Missouri; sisters, Mrs. Holmes (Sophia) Rhinehart and Mrs. W. L. (Ruby) McMurry, both of Greensburg and Mrs. Elizabeth Smith of Hutchinson.
She was a member of the Halstead Methodist Church and the Halstead American Legion Auxillary. She was truly a teacher - making her vocation a vital part of her everyday living.
Funeral services were held at the First Methodist church with burial in the Halstead cemetery.
