James M. McIntire, a resident of Sedgwick and the sheriff of Harvey County from 1927 to 1931, died at the Axtell Christian Hospital here at 10:30 Sunday night from acute complications resulting from kidney trouble and uremic poisoning.
McIntire was 57 years of age. He was elected sheriff in November of 1926 on the Democratic ticket and re-elected in 1928. He is survived by his widow and son, W. G. McIntire. Funeral services will be held at Sedgwick on Wednesday.
