Obituary

Richard L. Wilmore, 72, Spearville, native of Halstead, died January 5, 2002 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City, Kansas. He was born April 20, 1929, son of John and Margaret Ellis Wilmore. He was a member of the Class of 1947, Halstead High School. A spearville resident since 1991, moving from Dodge City, he was the manager of the Dodge City fertilizer department until retiring in 1996. On October 22, 1949 he married Maragaret Tull. She died June 27, 2001.

Survivors: sons, Rick Wilmore, Ulysses, Kansas; John Wilmore, Moore, Oklahoma; three daughters, Bobbi Doll, Spearville; Becky Jo AnSalm, Dodge City, and Sheli Wilmore, Spearville; two sisters, Juanita Blasdel, Topeka and Arlene Stahlheber, San Diego, California; six grandchildren and one great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother, Wayne Wilmore.

A memorial service was held at Burkhart-Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Cremation has taken place. Remains will be buried in the Halstead Cemetery, Halstead, Kansas.
