Obituary

Forrest D. Ewy, 72, died November 28, 2006 at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation after a year-long battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease.

He was born September 25, 1934 in Halstead, son of John Edward and Dorothy Mabel Brown Ewy. A resident of Halstead, he was a farmer. He belonged to First Mennonite Church, Ruth-Wilson American Legion Post #231, Halstead Gun Club and the National Rifle Association. He served in the U. S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He married Katherine R. Keller on March 16, 1957 in Halstead. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Steve Ewy and fiance, Jill McGinn, Halstead; daughter, Diane and husband, Paul Davison, Sedgwick; sister, Betty Shepard, Halstead; two grandchildren, Katie and Konner Davison.

Funeral services were held at the church with burial in Halstead Cemetery.
