Haug, Lyle Ralph

Lyle Ralph Haug, agee 73, devoted husband, father, "Popa" and friend to many, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Sunday, December 21, 2008. Lyle was born in Lakin, Kansas on June 26, 1935 to Lyle "Pete" & Violet Haug. He grew up and attended school and graduated from Protection, Kansas High School in 1953. He entered the U.S. Army in January 1956, spending most of his time in Germany. He married Jerry Ann Turner on January 10. 1959 and they would have celebrated 50 years together on January 10. 2009.

Upon Lyle's discharge he went to work for Derby Refining Company and became a certified welder. He also worked for KG&E as a welder before staarting his own business, Haug Construction, in the early 1960's. He was a gifted craftsman building both beautiful homes and commercial property. He started Wood Creation Cabinet Shop in the early 1980's doing custom cabinet work. He retired in 2000 after a work related accident, but continued to always find something to do. He loved doing projects for his 6 grandchildren and quite often at Christmas they had a gift made by Popa. He was a cowboy at heart, loved riding horses, rodeos, farming and raising cattle. His father, mother and brother, Larry Haug preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Jerry Ann Haug; son Dewey L. & Wife, KayLene of Valley Center; daughter Jana Sue Linnebur & husband, Jim, of Colwich: 6 grandchildren; sister, Jeri Schul & Jack of Wichita.

Services will be at Riverlawn Christian Church, Wichita, with burial in Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick, Kansas.
