Obituary

Gertrude Barnard, 89, died Sunday at the Kansas Christian home in Newton, where she had lived for the past three years. She was born at Connersville, Indiana and came to Halstead with her family while she was a small child. She was a bookkeeper preceding her retirement. She was a member of the Christian Church, but attended the Methodist Church in Halstead.

Survivors: one nephew, Frank Evans, Colorado Springs; six nieces, Mrs. E. L. Orr and Mrs. Laura Cheatum, Halstead; Mrs. Orville Pote, Cushing, Oklahoma; Mrs. Clyde McDonough, Beaumont, Texas; Mrs. Alice Henton, Manhattan and Mrs. Belle Musgrove, San Diego, California.

Funeral services were held at the Halstead Methodist Church with Rev. Doran Myers and Rev. Leonard Sammons officiating. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
