Wilson, Walter S.

Wichita Eagle

Walter S. Wilson, 86, of 2219 S. Washington here in Wichita, died Thursday, December 16, 1965, one day after his wife's funeral services. The couple had just observed their 60th wedding anniversary November 12, 1966.

He was born at Mason City, Illinois. He met Mrs. Wilson in Ogden, Utah, while en rouote to the West Coast. After their marriage in 1901 in Ogden, they moved to Halstead where they farmed for 45 years. They left the farm in 1945 and moved to Wichita. He was a member of the Methodist Church and a 50 year member of IOOF Lodge in Halstead.

Survivors: six daughters, Mrs. Mary Lininger, Mrs. Bessie Koop and Mrs. Eula Black, all of Wichita, Mrs. Zelda Reed, Derby, Mrs. Florence Leckington, Newton and Mrs. LaVonne Sinclair, Wichita; and two sons, Adam, Clearfield, Utah, and Myron, Apple Valley, California.

Services will be Saturday in Halstead Methodist Church with burial in the Halstead Cemetery. Broadway Mortuary has charge.
