Donald D. Krehbiel, 75, passed away on Friday (April 1, 2011) at Asbury park Green House from complications of Alzheimer's Disease.

He was born Oct. 25, 1935, in McPherson to Arthur and Alvina (Schrag) Krehbiel. He married Jean Claassen on Feb. 17, 1955, in Whitewater. They were married 56,years, and she survives.

Don was a graduate of Newton high School. He spent nearly 40 years in the furniture manufacturing industry, the last years of which were spent at Heartland bedding in Newton until his retirement in 1998. Don and Jean lived in Hesston for 28 years and were members of Hesston United Methodist Church.

after Don's retirement, he and Jean traveled in their travel trailer for 12 years and visited all 50 states. Don loved to fish and golf. His favorite hobby was pitching horseshoes with his brothers and many friends. He was a member of the Kansas and National horseshoe Pitching Associations (KHPA and NHPAS). He attended the World Horseshoe pitching tournament in Gillette, Wyo., and took fourth in his class.

He is survived by his wife , Jean of Newton; son, Devery and his wife, Vietta of Hesston; daughter, Jill and her husband, Troy Garver of Newton; seven grandchildren.
