Obituary

Mrs. Anna E. Marak, lifelong resident of the Halstead community, died February 9 at the Halstead Hospital at the age of 79.

she was born near Halstead July 17, 1884, daughter of Peter and Caroline Warkentine. She was married June 9, 1901 in Halstead, Kansas to Joseph L. Marak, who preceded her in death on February 6, 1962.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart church of Halstead, Requiem Mass was held Thursday morning with the Rev. Fr. Sean J. OShea officiating. Recitation of Holy Rosary
was held Tuesday evening, February 11, at the church.

Survivors include four sons; Charles of Syracues; Clarence of Rapid City, South Dakota; Lawrence of Halstead and Ben of Newton; three daughters, Mrs. Pauline Nickles of Rapid City; Mrs. Edith Moulds, Rapid City; and Mrs. Agnes McLean, Wichita. One sister, Mrs. Lena Hoga of Sylvia and 23 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also survive. Burial took place in the Halstad Cemetery.
