Obituary

Farmer/stockman Harold Hughes, 83, of Newton, Route #5, died Friday, August 19, 1988 at NMC-Axtell Medical Center. Services will be Tuesday at First United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

He was born May 5, 1905 in Wales to Mr. & Mrs. Robert Hughes. He married Phoebe Jane Keady February 8, 1930 in Halstead. She died July 24, 1983. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and lived most of his life in the Newton area.

Survivors: two sons, Wayne and Robert of rural Newton; two daughters, Patricia Ann Moulds of Wichita and Kathleen Wards of Newton; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
