Obituary

Phoebe Jane Keady Hughes, Newton, died July 24, 1983 at the Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton after a long illness. She was born Phoebe Jane Keady Janury 20, 1905 at Blue Mound. She married Harold Hughes February 8, 1930 at Halstead. She was a registered nurse, having graduated from the Halstad Hospital School of nursing. She had been a Newton resident since 1930.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Newton. Survivors besides the husband, Harold, of the honme; daughters, Patricia Ann Moulds, Wichita; Kathleen Ward, Newton; Brothers; George Keady, San Jose, California; Lloyd Keady, Fair Oaks, California; sister, Lora Chaffee, Newton; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday morning at the church with the Rev. Steve Washburn. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Petersen Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
