Joseph Steffen

Funeral services for Joseph Steffen, long-time resident of the Halstead-Burrton community were held March 2 in the Sacred Heart Church in Halstead. He died of an apparent heart attack in his home on February 27, 1967.

He was born in Danendorf, France, June 14, 1889 and came to the United States in 1911. His wife, Marie died in an automobile accident in 1961.

Survivors: two sons, Victor of Route 4 Hutchinson and Frank of Burrton; two daughters, Mrs. Madeline Sommers, Mitchell, South Dakota and Mrs. Ruth Ann Shive, Burrton; a brother, Andres of Halstead and a sister and a brother in Danendorf also survive besides 13 grandchildren.

Burial was in the Burrton Cemetery.
