Obituary

Hazel C. Jones, 93, former telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., died Monday (Feb. 8, 1999) at Friendly Acres Retirement Community.

She was born Nov. 5, 1905, in Daford to John Edward and Margaret Ellen (Gray) Clements. She married John Lee Jones April 3, 1929, in Kansas City. He preceded her in death April 8, 1986.

She was a member of United Presbyterian Church. She attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton for many years.

Survivors include one son, Harold L. Jones of Valley Center, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by one brother, Merle Clements, and one sister, Marjorie Handel.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald Lacy of Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Center officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Gardens of Memory in Newton.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established with Myasthenia Gravis in care of the funeral home
