Mildred J. Hahn 86, Newton, formerly of Halstead, died Friday, July 3, 1998 at Schowalter Villa, Hesston.
Born September 29, 1911 at Halstead, she was the daughter of George G. and Mary E. Bold Pierce. She was employed aat Cunningham's department store and Friendly Acres Retirement Center in Newton. She also managed a fabric shop in Lyons. She belonged to First United Methodist Church, Newton and the Wimodausis Club at Halstead.
On January 2, 1931 she married Albert G. Hahn at Halstead. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mary Joan Short, Newton; a sister, Wilda Mae Young, Council Grove; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Jane Jones; a brother, Glenn Pierce; a sister, Mary Baumgartner; and a grandchild.
Funeral was Tuesday, July 7, at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, Newton, with the Rev. Michael Keating presiding. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
