Jackson, Marietta Hanna

The Newton Kansan

Mrs. Marietta Jackson, 72, retired housemother at the University of Kansas, died Saturday, August 2, 1975 in Lawrence after a long illness.

She was born February 19, 1903 in Newton, daughter of William and Mary Ansbro Hanna. She married Howard L. Jackson in Wichita on June 19. 1929. He died in Newton October 15, 1959. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Altar Society, as well as Northview Opoportunity Center activities while living in Newton.

Survivors: one son, Jerome, Mission, Kansas; one daughter, Mrs. Jan Cotton, Chicago; one foster daughter, Mrs. James (Carrie Lee) Wilkerson, Kansas City; two sisters, Mrs. Alfred E. (Elsie) Robison, LaJolla, California and Miss Therese Hanna, Wichita and six grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday in St. Mary's Church with Msgr. Irvin F. Lampe officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
