Benjamin Dewell Osborne

Benjamin Dewell "Ben" Osborne, 11, a resident of Ft. Wayne, Indiana since April of this year and a student in the Ft. Wayne Schools, was born August 25, 1972 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of Ralph Daniel and Jane Elizabeth Dewell Osborne.

Benjamin was found dead in his parents home in Ft. Wayne Indiana. He had been assaulted from a "blunt" instrument such as a bat, as had both his father and mother. There were no indications that robbery was the motive. His 2 year sister had been assaulted, but was found alive.

Ben's survivors: one sister, Caroline Osborne, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, grandparents, John and Winifred Dewell of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Norma Osborne of Lawrence; and maternal great-grandparents, Fred and Mildred Ice of Newton.

Draper-Cannon Funeral Home in Newton was in charge of arrangements.
