Osborne, Daniel Ralph 'Dan'

Services will be conducted Friday morning iin the Southridge United Presbyterian Church in Roeland Park, Kansas for Ralph Daniel "Dan" Osborne, Mrs. Jane Elizabeth Osborne and Benjamin Dewell "Ben" Osborne of Ft., Wayne, Indiana. Graveside services and burial will be Saturday in Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. The osbornes were found dead in their home in Ft. Wayne, Monday. It is believed they died early Saturday, September 17, 1983. They were all killed from assaults from a "blunt" instrument such as a bat. There was no indication that there was anything stolen. Their 2 year old daughter was assaulted but found alive.

Ralph Daniel "Dan" Osborne, 35, editorial editor of the Ft. Wayne News-Sentinel, was born November 6, 1947 at Seneca, Kansas. On May 22, 1971, he married Elizabeth Dewell in Tulsa, Oklahaoma. They moved to Ft. Wayne in April from Kansas City, Kansas

He was a 1970 graduate of the University of Kansas with a degree in journalism. He was a member of the Southridge United Presbyterian Church of Roeland, Kansas and had been active in coaching basketball and baseball for youth.

He is survived by one daughter, Caroline of Ft. Wayne; his mother, Mrs. Norma Osborne and one brother, George Osborne, both of Lawrence, Kansas.
