Riley, Charles Edward

Charles Edward Riley, 75, 426 East 9th, died Sunday morniing, April 13, 1975, at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. He was born February 17, 1900 at Agency, Missouri, son of Edward and Flossie Tinbodie Riley. He married Carrie K. Koester, August 31, 1923 at St. Joseph, Missouri. They moved to Newton in 1930. She died May 29, 1968.

Mr. Riley was a retired engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a 50 year member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the VFW.

Survivors: two daughters, Mrs. Harold E. (Geraldine) Grimm, Wichita and Mrs. Charles (Jeanette) Salerno, Phoenix. Arizona; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Services will be held Wednesday at the Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
