Services for Jack E. Talbert, 51, Pleasanton, formerly of Halstead were held last Friday at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead, with the Rev. Jerry Griffin, Newton officiating. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery with Masonic commital services.
Mr. Talbert died October 29, 1974 at Independence. He had been a crane operator for 32 years. He most recently had been working with Daniels Consturction Company at the LaCygne power plant site.
On November of 1965 he was married to Dorothy Hoffman Rodgers at Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a member of the Christian church; Veterans of Foreign Wars; Masonic Lodge 99, Wichita; Local 101 Operating Engineers, Topeka; and was a veteran of World War II.
Besides his widow, he is survived by two sons, David and Robert of Wichita; daughter, Mrs. Phillip (Patty) Parker, W Wichita; two stepsoons, Gardy Rodgers, Buena Park, California and Dennis Rodgers, Wichita; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Dwight (Leva) Bickford, San Bruno, California; Mrs. Sue Stewart, Wichita and Mrs. Leon (Karen) Nikkel, Canton; his stepfather, Wallace Jarrell, Independence; brother, John, Oklahoma City; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
