Obituary

Gilbert F. Woodworth, Jr., 54,, Halstead, owner of Woodworth Hardware, died Saturday, June 7, 1980 at the M. D. Anderson Hospital, Houston, Texas, where he had been a patient for about a month.

Mr. Woodworth was born in Wichita and lived most of his life in Halstead. He owned the hardward store since 1956 but had operated it for 33 years, the store being started by his father.

He was a veteran of the Air Corps in World War II, and was a member of the Halstead American Legion Post.

He married Alda M. Shaver in 1947. She survives. Other survivors: two sons, John Woodworth and Bill Woodworth, both of Hays, Kansas; daughter, Mrs. Jayne Akerman, Fayeteville, Georgia; three sisters, Mrs. Mary K. Buller, Halstead, Mrs. Margaret Schroeder, Newton and Mrs. Nancy Wilson, San Antonio, Texas; and three grandchildren.
