Obituary

Robert D. Hensley, 74, Halstead, died March 4, 1988 at his home. He was born April 9, 1913, at Tampa, Kansas, the son of Wiley and Lena Schwartzman Hensley. He married Olga Janzen September 5, 1934 at Halstead. He was a retired farmer and had been a resident of Halstead fof 58 years.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Halstead; Elke Lodge, Newton and a former Halstead city councilman; a former member of the Wichita Water Board and the Halstead Hospital Advisory Board.

Survivors: wife of the home; son, Robert J., Sedgwick; daughter, Sharon Irsik, Kearney, Missouri; sisters, Agnes Pientka, Marion, Kansas; Josephine Neuwirth, Lost Springs, Kansas; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The rosary was said Sunday evening, March 6 at Kaufman Funeral Chapel. The funeral mass was Monday evening March 7 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Father James E. Eatoough. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery. Memorials to the Harvey County Hospice or to the church.
