Obituary

Duane A. Steele, 45, Newton, an insurance agent and vice president of Insurance Concepts of Kansas, Inc. died Thursday August 23, 1990 at Newton Medical Center.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, Halstead with burial in the Halstead Cemetery.

He was born December 22, 1944 in Halstead, the son of Alva M. and Beertha May Hosie Steele. On March 26, 1967 he married Joy B. Orndorff in Laurel, Maryland. She survives. He moved to Newton from Hutchinson four years ago.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge, both of Halstead; the Newton Elks Lodge; the Scottish Rite of the Wichita Consistory; the Royal Life, and the Harvey County Extension Council. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Other survivors: son, John of the home; daughter, Dawn, of the home; his father, Alva of Newton; and three sisters; Carole Becker of Loveland, Colorado; Marlene Richter of Bloomington, Illinois and Donita Cohorst of Marysville.
