Obituary

Maxine L. Batchelor, 64, Halstead, died April 3, 1992 at Memorial Home, Moundridge. She was born March 14, 1928 at Newton, the daughter of Robert V. and Iva J. Steele Sumpter. A Halstead resident for one year, moving from Newton, she was a retired medical records ART. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Lodge #403 and the American Legion Auxillary, both of Halstead.

She married Basel J. Batchelor at Halstead on October 16, 1948. He died January 16, 1984.

Survivors: two sons, Robert J. Batchelor, Alexander, Arkansas and Steven W. Batchelor, Wichita; two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Cecil Sumpter who died May 22, 1990.

Services were held Tuesday at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
