Obituary

Corneliue "Cornie" Unruh, 71, Newton, the brother of Nina Unruh, Halstead, died August 23, 1992 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born May 27, 1921 in Burrton Township, the son of Cornelius D. and Adena Becker Unruh. On September 25, 1948 he married Alice Didier at Newton. A longtime Newton resident, he was a retired crew chief at Hesston Corporation.

He attended Koerner Heights Church of the Mennonite Brethren and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, both at Newton. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors: son, Davd Unruh, Wichita; daughter, Cindy Biar, Hesston; brother, Ray Unruh, Moundridge; eight other sisters, Susie Smith and Lydia Unruh, Montezuma; Malinda Koehn, Hesston; Elizbeth Schmidt, Livingston, California; Ina Friesen and Clara Penner, both of Newton; Pearl Kater, Wichita; and Sarah Croy, Phoenix; two grandsons.

Services are set for Wednesday at the Church with burial in Restlawn Gardens of Memory, Newton.
