Obituary

Esther F. Krauss, 95, Sedgwick died Monday, Ocbober 21, 1996 at Schowalter Villa Retirement Center in Hesston. She was born June 3, 1901, daughter of Karl August and Martha Rieff Schwarz. A resident of Sedgwick since 1925, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Halstead Baptist church, Halstead.

On November 3, 1925 she married Jacob G. Krauss at Gypsum. He died March 11, 1977. Survivors: sons; Kenneth Kraus, Sedgwick; Karl Krauss, Halstead and William Krauss, Hesston; daughters, Virginia Miller, Topeka; Faye Rennolt, Wichita; Maxine Shirk, Sedgwick; Doris Kolb, Springfield, Missouri and Carolyn Krauss, Dewey, Oklahoma; brother, William Schwarz, Salina; two sisters, Elsie Thiel and Augusta Nilson, both of Gypsum; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral was held Thursday at the Church. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery.
