Obituary

Herbert W. Unruh, 86, Halstead, died Thursday, October 28, 1999 at Halstead Hospital. He was born April 29, 1913 at Greensburg, the son of Abe and Wilda Steele Unruh. He was the owner/operator of The Sweet Shoppe in Halstad before retiring. He was a member of the Golden Nugget Pitch Club at Halstead.

On June 29, 1950 he married Phyllis Jo Spegal at Halstead. She survives of the home. Other survivors: three sons, Don Unruh, Halstad; Larry Unruh, ElDorado; and Perry Unruh, Reeds Spring, Missouri; brother, Homer Unruh, Grove, Oklahoma; sister, Marjorie Stucky, Halstead; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane; two brothers, Harold Unruh and Gene Unruh and a sister, Mildred Considine.

Services were held Saturday, October 30, at Kaufman Funeral Home. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
