Marjorie Jeanne Berger, 77, Halstead, died Monday, February 22, 1999 at Halstead Hospital. She was born February 21, 1922 at Halstead, the daughter of Felix A. and Erma Lura King Wendling. She was a 1939 graduate of Halstead High School and in 1943 she graduated from the Halstead Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse. She was a lifelong Halstead resident and a homemaker.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Altar Society, Halstead Hospital Auxiliary and Friendship EHU, all of Halstead.

She married Maurice E. Berger on July 31, 1943. He survives. Other survivors: two sons, Edward Berger, Hutchinson and Rodney Berger, Bartlesville, Oklahoma; brother, Thomas Wendling, Halstead and two grandsons, Joseph Berger and John Berger, both of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leland P. Wendling who was killed in World War ii and Donald Arthur Wendling.

Mass of the Christian burial will be Thursday February 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead with Father Brian J. Egan presiding. Rosary will be Wednesday, February 24, at Kaufman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Halstead Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the Hutchinson Community College Endowment Association or to the American Cancer Society.
