Obituary

Thelma Ferne Dettweiler, 76,, died October 1, 1999 at Newton Medical Center. She was born November 13, 1922, the daughter of Everett F. and Vera Louise McGregor Tucker. A former Halstead resident, she was a PBX operator at the Hertzler Clinic.

She married Melburn Jay Dettweiler at Tulsa on January 22, 1948. He died July 18, 1991.

Survivors: two daughters, Pamela M. Galliart, Halstead and Micki Lori Akers, Benton, Washington and a granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Hayne Lee Dettweiler and a sister, Violet Getter.

Funeral will be Monday at Kaufman Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in the Halstead Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Kidron Bethel Village or the Caring Hands Humane Society.
