Obituary

Leo Young, 86, Halstead, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000 at his residence. He was born November 1, 1913 at Halstead, the son of Hiram Clyde and Edith Mae Chapple Young. He was a retired machinist for Cessna Aircraft and a Halstead Golf Course (now Wedgewood Golf Course) greenskeeper and club pro for 49 years. He was a World War II United States Navy Veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 231 and the former Halstead Golf Club, both of Halstead. On December 14, 1937 he married Eulalia Lorraine Keller at Halstead. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Jack Young, Andale and a sister, Rena Honn, Arkansas City; two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Kent Young, and three brothers, Lloyd Young, Ray Young and Hiram Young. Funeral service will be Thursday, April 27 at First United Methodist Church, Halstead with burial in the Halstead Cemetery.
