Elmer Henry Loren Janzen, 80, retired accountant, died Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at Mercy Hospital at Moundridge. He was born July 30, 1921 to Bernard Henry and Cathryn (Janzen) Janzen. His father survives of North Newton, He married Rosie Johnson November 26, 1948 in Wichita. She survives of Moundridge.
He was a Moundridge resident for the past seven years, moving from Halstead where he had resided for 45 years. He retired from Insurance Management Associatesin Wichita in 1987 as an accountant. He was a member of First Mennonite Church in Halstead. He was the council president at Memorial Home in Moundridge, a member of Golden Circle Camping Club of Newton and the Shoe Scuffers Square Dancing Club of Hesston. He enjoyed square dancing, camping, traveling and woodworking.
Other survivors: son, Jay Janzen of St. Charles, Missouri and daughter, Cathy Frost, of Halstead and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepmother, Marie Regier; sister, Beulah Deckert, and stepsister, Irene Berry.
Graveside Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Halstead Cemetery.
