Obituary

Carol C. Ediger, 61, died Saturday, October 4, 2003 at her home in Halstead. She was born August 1, 1942 at Andale, Kansas, the daughter of Herman Ludwig and Clara Mary Behrmann Biermann. She was a sales assistant for Anderson Healthcare in Newton, a former hair dresser and co-owner of B & E Retail Liquor, both at Halstead. She married LaVerne A. Ediger October 23, 1965 at Halstead.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead; the Altar Society of the church; former treasurer of the Halstead Volunteer Fire Department and a volunteer for the American Diabetes Association.

Survivors: include her husband, Vern Ediger of the home; son, Terry M. Ediger and wife, Renee, Halstead; a daughter, Tracy M. Mertens and her husband, Rodney, Halstead; six sisters; Delores J. Bohrer, Zenda, Kansas; Mary Ann Cloud, Wichita; Betty J. Burbrink, Becky J. Vogt and Linda L. Becker, all of Halstead; and Judy L. Rinehart, Wichita; four grandchildren, Cade and Colby Mertens and Andrew and Dakota Blaylock.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Melvin Hl. Biermann and Ralph A. Biermann.

Rosary will be said Wednesday evening at the church with the Mass of Christian Burial Thursday morning, October 9 at the church. Father Thomas Wai will conduct the service. Burial will be in the Halstead Cemetery.
