Obituary

Verna L. Krueger, 79, Halstead, died December 30, 2003 at Newton Medical Center. She was born June 24, 1924 at Menlo, the daughter of Lewis E. and Edith Anderson Nichols. She was a registered nurse and former school nurse for Halstead Schools. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women and Halstead Hospital Nurses Alumni Association, all of Halstead. She was a 1945 graduate of Halstead Hospital School of Nursing.

On February 28, 1946, she married Harry Krueger at Newton. He survives of the home. Other survivors, son, Larry Krueger, Overland Park; daughter, Shari Pottbert, Junction City; brother, Merlin Nichols, Culbertson, Nebraska and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a twin brother, Vernon Nichols and another brother, Virgil
Nichols.

Services were held January 3, 2004 at the church with Rev. Nancy Lambing presiding. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
