Obituary

Helen Marie "Skeet" Huebert, 78, died Monday April 19, 2004 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph Campus, in Wichita. A granddaughter of Dr. A. E. Hertzler, she was born in Halstead on November 26, 1925, the daughter of Ernest H. and Helen Lenore Hertzler Huebert. She had been a Halstead resident for the last 15 years. She was a registered nurse and retired Associate Professsor of Nursing at the University of Wyoming.

She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Newton, University of Washington and Colorado Alumni Associations, Halstead Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, and the Reserve Officers Association. She was a U.S. Army Nurse during the Korean Conflict, achieving the rank of captain.

Survivors: brother, Robert E. Huebert, Canoga Park, California; sister, Joan A. Huebert Wilder, Halstead.

Funeral will be Thursday April 22 at Kaufman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Halstead Cemetery.
