Obituary

Joanne Trego, 79, of Halstead, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was born on February 2, 1928 in Lincoln, Nebrasdka to her parents, Alva L. and Helen L. Gale Marr who are both deceased.

She was a registered Nurse/Nurse Clinican with Hertzler Clinic, Halstead Nursing Center and Harvey County Hospice. She married Joe M. Trego on April 22, 1951 in Halstead. He survives.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Halstead; Halstead Historical Society and American Legion Post 231 Auxiliary, all of Halstead. She was a contributing writer for the Independent.

She is survived y husband, Joe Trego; sons, Joseph Trego, Halstead, Jeff Trego, Robury and daughter, Jan Smith and her husband, Randy, of Halstead; sisters, Marilyn Adams of Independence; Helen Joyce Newton, Mesa, Arizona; Carolyn Johnson of Littleton, Colorado; Alma Peterson of Texas; four grandchildren and four great grand children.

Services were at First Presbyterian Church in Halstead Saturday December 29. Cremation has taken place.
