Obituary

Elda R. Becker, 91, retired registered nurse for Halstead Hospital and Hertzler Clinic, died Thursday, March 25,
2010 at Chaucer Estates, Wichita. She was born November 26, 1918 at Greensburg to William A. and Helena (Unruh) Unruh.

She was a member of the First Mennonite church in Halstead; Hospital Auxiliary and Halstead Senior Center, all of Halstead. She was a volunteer for the Kansas Learning Center for Health, Halstead, and Harvey County Retired Senior Volunteer Program at Newton.

A Halstead resident since 1941, she was a 1944 graduate of Halstead Hospital School of Nursing.

She married Harvey Becker on August 19, 1946 at Newton. He preceded her in death November 5, 1985,


Survivors: son, Wayne Alan (Jan) Becker, Wichita and Daughter, Dr. Dorothy Ann (Gregg) Winslow, Park Hills, Missouri; sister, Ruth Dyer, Benson, Arizona and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Victor Unruh and sisters, Wilma and Martha Unruh, Ethel Brewer, Luella Williamson and Flora Smith.

Memorial service was held Monday at the First Mennonite Church in Halstead with Rev. Cleo Koop officiating. Burial will be in Halstead Cemetery.
