Obituary

William E. Lentz, 81, retired U.S. Postal Service employee died Monday, May 3, 2010 at Newton Medical Center, Newton. He was born June 17, 1928 at Halstead to Merle and Katherine Margaret Bousser Lentz. A lifelong resident of Halstead, he was a graduate of Halstad School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Ruth-Wilson American Legion Post 231 and was a charter member of the Halstead Gun Club of Halstad. On May 4, 1968 he married Alice Evelyn Albright at Halstead. Following her death on December 30. 2002, he married Glennis Ropp Neufeld on September 7, 2003 at Halstad. She survives.

Other survivors: sons, David Lentz, Denver, Colorado; Billy Lentz, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Rick Lentz, Mays Landing, New Jersey; half sister; Bobbi Ann Erickson, Oregon; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services will be Friday morning at the First United Metehodist Church with Rev. Jennier Whitt officiating. Burial will follow at Halstad Cemetery.
