Redinger, Julia V.

Harvey County Independent

Julia V. Redinger, 90 former Burrton and Halstead resident, died Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Buhler Sunshine Home, Buhler, Kansas She was born March 15, 1920 at Homer, Louisiana to William and Francis Walker. During World War II she was a welder bulding Liberty Ships at the Kaiser Shipyeards, Richmond, California. She was also a hurse's aide at Halstead Hospital for 25 years and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Altar Society and Lake Township Happy Homemakers EHU. On January 22, 1940 she married Homer John Redinber at Minden, Louisiana. He preceded her in death September 29, 1994.

Survivors: sons: Jim (Linda) Redinger, Burrton; Jeff (Cassie) Redinger, Arlington, Texas; and John Redinger, Burrton; daughters, Judy Dressler, Halstead, Janet (Bill) Ropp, Hutchinson; Jean (Dave) Cutting, Moundridge; Joan Redinger, Wichita; Jeri (Leo) Mcpherson, Vancouvere, Washington and Julie (Jim) Kanady, Hutchinson; brother Johnny (Tammy) Dawson, Bosier City Louisiana; 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Walker.

Rosary will be Thursday at the church. Mass of the Christian burial will be Friday morning with Father Steven Baxter officiating. Burial will follow at the Halstead Cemetery.
