Obituary

Estelle Bucher, 72, Newton, the mother of Zella Thomas, Halstead, died September 7, 1990 at St. Francis Retgional Medical Center, Wichita. She was born July 15, 1918 at Langly, the daughter of LeRoy and Edna Harris Thorne. She married L. D. Bucher at Torrington, Wyoming on February 21, 1942. A resident of Newton for 39 years, she was a homemaker.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Newton, and a former board member of Newton Women's Bowling Association.

Other survivors: her husband of the home; son Thomas Bucher, Bartlesville, Oklahoma; three daughters, Sadie Nelson, Mount Vernon, Texas and Celesta Gaede and LDeena Jones, both of Neton; brother, Don Thorne, Santa Rose, California; 8 grandchildren and 6 great great grand-children.

Services were held Monday afternoon at Peterson's Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery, Newton. Memorials may be sent to Kansas Dialysis Association.
