Obituary

Esther Anna Randall, 95, Newton, former Halstead resident, died February 17, 1990 at Friendly Acres Retirement Community in Newton. She was born February 14, 1894 in Ridge Farm Township, Edgar County, Illinois. She was the daughter of James Clark and Mary Alice Tuttle Watson. She came to Newton with her parents and sisters in June of 1909. She was a graduate of Newton High School and worked as a bookkeeper and sales clerk. She married Daniel Gordon Randall June 25, 1924 at Manhattan, Kansas. He died September 4, 1959. She had been a longtime resident of Halsteaad and moved to Newton to the retirement home in 1982. She operated a rooming house in Halstead from 1 944 to 1978 and was also a baby sitter before her retirement.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Halstead, and was honoredas a 75 year member of the Rebekah Lodge No. 458 of Newton this January.

Survivors: three nieces; Louise Smith, Wichita; Mina Lowery, Columbia Missouri and Jean Roberson, Temple, Texas. She was preceded in death by two step-sons, John Randall in 1980 and Glenn Randall in 1984.

Services were eld Tuesday at the church with Rev. Roger O. Shanks. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
