Obituary

Cecelia A. Vierethaler, 93, former Halstead resident, died December 31, 1990 at Manor of the Plains, Nursing Home, Dodge City, Kansas. She was born December 11, 1897, daughter of August and Anna Miller Schaplowsky. A Spearville resident for seven years after moving from Halstead, she had been living at Dodge City since October 1990. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Spearville.

She married Anton Alfred Vierthaler at Wichita on October 16, 1925. He died in 1937. Survivors: two sons, Lawrence A. Vierthaler, Spearville and Anton A. Vierthaler, Olathe, Kansas; three sisters, Mary Schaploswky, Mt. Hope; Ella Northcott, Tyler, Texas and Lucille Hanson, Eugene, Oregon; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Vigil Services were held at St. John's Parish Center in Spearville. Funeral mass will be Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead. Burial will be in Halstead cemetery.
