Obituary

Katherine L. Zuercher, 81, Newton, mother of Lou Ann Vaughn, rural Halstead, died July 17, 1990 at Friendly Acres Retirement Community in Newton.

She was born March 30, 1909 at Strong City, Kansas, the daughter of John and Louise Brown Martin. She married C. W. Zuercher May 30, 1931 at Wichita, Kansas. He died February 25, 1956. She was a homemaker and a long time resident of Newton.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar Society, both of Newton.

Other survivors: one son, Bill Zuercher, Newton; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The rosary was held Monday July 23 at Draper-Cannon Funeral Home Chapel, Newton. The funeral mass was held Tuesday morning, July 24, at the church with Father Robert Wachter. Burial was in Restlawn Gardens of Memory, Newton. Memorials to American Cancer Society.
