Obituary

Walter Buhler Enns, 87, a retired Newton teacher and athoetic director, died Monday, December 2, 1991 at Newton Medical Center. He was born January 31, 1904 at Newton, the son of Peter W. and Elizabeth Buhler Enns. He married Florence Haury on December 22, 1931 at Newton. She died August 22, 1981.

He was a member of the Bethel College Church; a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Presbyterian Manor Men's Group and the Newton Chamber of Commerce. He was also a New York Life insurance underwriter. He had lived in Newton most of his life.

Survivors: three daughters, Carol Haury Brubacher of Winfield; Rosalind Enns Andreas of Burlington, Virginia; and Ellen Haury Goering of Boulder, Coloardo; a brother, Rudolph B. Enns of North Newton; sister Anna Stemens of North Newton; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A family graveside service was held Wednesday morning at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton. Memorial services were held later that morning at the Bethel College Church, conducted by Darrell Fast.
