Gram, John W.

Halstead Independent

John W. Gram, 79, Hutchinson, native of Halstead, died August 31, 1991 at Hutchinson Hospital. He was born May 8, 1912 at Halstead, son of Milton and Mary Alice Hinshaw Gram. A Hutchinson resident since 1967, he was a retired machinist with Cessna Fluid Power Division.

He was a member of the Midland United Church of Christ, Sterling, and independent Order of Oddfellows Reno Lodge No. 99, Myrtle Rebekah Lodge No. 28, American Association of Retired Persons Chapter No. 2899 and the Cessna Retirees Club, all of Hutchinson.

In 1941 he married Betty Zimmerman. She died in 1961. He married Mildred R. Engelland at Sterling on May 31, 1962.
She survives.

Other survivors: two sons, John W. Gram, Portland, Oregon; and Richard Gram, Pueblo, Colorado; two stepsons, Bill Engelland, Nickerson and David Engelland, Puducah, Kentucky; two step granddaughters, Linda Brewster, Glendale, Arizona and Dana Parks, Ganado, Texas; a brother, Wilbur Gram, El Cerrito, California; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday aafternoon at the Elliott Chapel in Hutchinson, conducted by the Rev. Larry Allison and Jim Mcmullen, followed by a ceremony by the Independent Order of Oddfellows No. 99. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
