Obituary

Lulu Mary Grattan, 96, Sedgwick, died Saturday, October 12, 1991 at Newton Presbyterian Manor. She was born October 23, 1894 at Sedgwick, the daughter of James F. and Margaret Jones Cadle. A lifetime resident of the Sedgwick area, she was a homemaker. She married Benjamin F. Grattan at Sedgwick on September 4, 1919. He died October 9, 1979.

Mrs. Grattan was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the founder of the Sacred Heart Guild, all of Halstead. She was a charter member of the Athena Club, Sedgwick.

Survivors include a son, Jack Grattan, Donna, Texas; two daughters, Margaret Webster, New Milford, Conn. and Eileen Penner, Burrton; a sister, Geneva Thomas, Oklahoma City; 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Rosary was Monday night at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The funeral mass was held Tuesday morning at the church. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Newton. Kansas.
