Obituary

Donnie LeRoy McGinn, 55, died August 27, 1991 at his home in rural Halstead. He was born November 29, 1935 on a farm near Sedgwick, the son of Hayes and Agnes Schaplowsky McGinn. He married Glenna Pummill in Soda Springs, Idaho on June 224, 1956. She survives.

A Halstead resident since 1974, moving from ElDorado, he was a retirerd telephone system technician for Southwestern Bell and AT&T. He was an installer/repairman for Southwestern Bell in ElDorado from 1955 to 1984. When the AT&T diversiture occured in January 1984, he went to work for AT&T transferring in June of that year to Kansas City, Missouri. He retired in October 1985 with 30 years of service.

Mr. McGinn was a member of the Sacred Heart Cathohlic Church, Halstead; the Moose Lodge and the Telephone Pioneers. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Other survivors: two sons, Todd M. McGinn of Olathe and Rod W. McGinn of Lawrence; one grandson, Mike T. McGinn; three brothers, Patrick McGinn, Halstead; Hayes McGinn Jr., Sedgwick; and Dr. Larry McGinn, Knoxville, Tennessee; four sisters, Doris Reynolds and Ann Seidl, both of Wichita; Agnes Johns, Lemon Grove, California and Martha Jane Lindsey, Spring Hill. He was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Robert and Paul.

The rosary was held Friday evening at Kaufman Funeral Home, with the funeral mass Saturday morning at the Sacred Heart Catholic Churchm, Halstead. Burial was in Restlawn Gardens of Memory, Newton.
