Obituary

Alvina Pjesky, 84, Newton, mother of Arnita Haury of rural Halstead, died May 30, 1991 at Newton Medical Center. Mrs. Pjesky was born May 5, 1907 at Manno, Okloahoma, the daughter of Andrew and Lena Ratzlaff Becker. She was a retired housekeeper at Halstead Hospital and had moved to Newton from Halstead in 1975. She was a member of the First Mennonite Church, Newton.

On August 4, 1928 she married Herman Pjesky at Newton. He died May 13, 1975.

Other survivors: three daughters, Delphia Koehn, Newton; Erma Torricelli, LaMesa, California and Lora Andreasson, San Diego; five sisters, Otillie Wiebe and Lois Stroud, both of Newton; Josephine Refsguard, Tracy, California; Rosalie Reynolds, ElDorado and Dorothy Casebeer, McPherson; six grandchildren and two great grand children.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Marie; a brother, Edwin Beckeer and a sister, Naomi Inghram.

Services were held Monday afternoon at the church. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery.
